Obituary of Robert J. Weideman, Sr.

Weideman, Robert J., Sr. Age 85, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2014. Robert was born in Pulaski, NY, to the late Leda and Pearl (Daniels) Weideman. In addition to his parents and siblings, he was also predeceased by his brother, Russell "Rusty" Weideman. Robert is survived by his sons, Ricky Weideman of Cayuta, NY, and Robert Weideman, Jr. of Erin; daughter, Lisa (Doug) Miller of Barton; brother, Richard Weideman, Sr. of Elmira; and several nieces and nephews; life partner, Barbara Stanton of Horseheads; along with Barbara's children, grandchildren and one great grandson. Robert was a U. S. Marine Corps Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict from 1948-1951. During that time, he was awarded the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal. He was a proud Marine attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. Robert retired after 30 plus years from Schweizer Aircraft Corp. as a paint shop supervisor. He was also a life member of the Marine Corps League and a member of the Big Flats Legion. A graveside service with full military honors will be held in Woodlawn National Cemetery, Elmira on Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at 11AM. Semper Fi! www.barberfuneralhome.com
