Obituary of The Reverend Jack Long

LONG, The Rev. Jack Age 90 of Horseheads and Painted Post went home to be with the Lord on Wed. Dec. 3, 2014. Jack was born in Williamsport, PA to Clifford and Ruth (Sahm) Long in Oct. 22, 1924. He is survived by his wife Pauline (Silsbee) Long; Daughter and son, Nancy Long of Elmira, NY, Susan Long of New Market, NH; Tim (Patti) Long of Chula Vista, CA Grandchildren, Rebekah (George) Torres, Anna (Tim) Slade, Aaron (Lindsay) Long, And Daniel Long; Great grandchildren, C.J. and Naomi Slade, Ariana, Leia, and Isaiah Torres and Sister, Betty (Jeffrey) Nevel of Williamsport, PA. Jack ministered several places including tenure with Nebraska and Ohio World Mission Campaign, 1st Baptist Church in Buda Illinois, 1st Baptist Church of Montour Falls and Painted Post. Jack was a strong man of faith and also a veteran of the US Army. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 S. Main St. Horseheads on Fri Dec. 5, 2014 from 5-7:00 pm His service will be celebrated in the American Baptist Church in Big Flats on Sat. Dec. 6, 2014 at 10:00 am. With the Rev. Richard Kirk officiating. Burial service will take place in Wildwood Cemetery in Williamsport, PA.
