Obituary of Edward S. ""Ted"" Burris

BURRIS, Edward S. "Ted" Age 78 of Pine Valley, NY passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2014. Ted was born in 1937 in Elmira, NY to the late Lester and Christine (Shanley) Burris. Ted is survived by one brother; two sisters; many nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of Corning Community College, Syracuse University and the University of Hawaii. Ted was also a veteran of the U. S. Air Force serving during the 1950’s as well as a member of the Peace Corps in Borneo, China and worked in Kwajalein for 20 years. An accomplished author and island historian, Ted published the book, “Kwajalein: From Stonehenge to Star Wars.” Ted was a caring, helpful and giving man; a voracious reader and lover of science and music.
