Obituary of Genevieve ""Gen"" M. Catlin

Catlin, Genevieve (Barchet) “Gen” M. Age 91 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Monday, January 12, 2015. Genevieve was born March 15, 1923, in Elmira, NY, the daughter of the late George and Eleanor (Miller) Barchet. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Francis D. Catlin. She is also survived by nieces, Lorraine (David) LaDuke of Syracuse, NY and Eleanor “Ellie” (Gary) Manchester of Easton, PA; nephew, David MacBlane as well as two great nephews and two great nieces and a great great nephew. She was predeceased by her twin sister, Geraldine MacBlane and brothers, George and Norman Barchet. Gen was employed for many years by S. C. Parker and Company and retired from the Chemung County Adult Protective Services. She enjoyed writing letters and communicating with family and friends. She loved telling her jokes and sharing a good laugh. Gen also enjoyed traveling and her many trips with Fran to coastal Maine. In honor of Gen’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. Entombment will take place in Woodlawn National Cemetery, Elmira at the convenience of the family.
