Obituary of Raymond Montanye

Montanye, Raymond Age 81 of Chemung NY, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015. Ray was born in Elmira, NY to the late Philo and Ruth (Johnson) Montanye. He was a U. S. Army veteran and retired from Westinghouse in Horseheads. Ray is survived by his loving family, childhood sweetheart, co-worker, and wife of over 60 years, Marjorie (Taft) Montanye of Horseheads, NY; children, Tim (Jennifer) Montanye of Chemung, NY, Bonny (Jason) William of Elmira, NY, Michael Montanye of Rochester, NY, Phyllis (Michael) Flemming of GA; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sister, Marietta Voorhees of Troy, PA; and brother, Lester Montanye of Pine City, NY; and many nieces and nephews. He was a member of I.B.E.W. Union in Elmira. Ray was an avid gardener who loved spending time with his family and always enjoyed a meal at Bernie Murray’s.
