Obituary of Marilyn K. Sbedico

Sbedico, Marilyn K. Marilyn Kole Bishop Sbedico, age 77, of Elmira, NY passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2015. Marilyn was born in Syracuse, NY, the daughter of the late Lewis T. Kole and Carolyn (Bishop) Kole. She lived in the Elmira Heights area since age two. Marilyn is survived by her son, J. William Sbedico, Jr.; and her fiancé, William A. Whiteman, both of Elmira, NY. She was a graduate of Thomas A. Edison High School; St. Joseph’s School of Nursing and earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree from Elmira College. Marilyn was a member of the Chemung Valley Chapter Embroidery Guild of America, Ladies of Charity member of Christ the Redeemer Church (St. Charles Borromeo) serving as a Eucharist Minister, and a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She worked as an office nurse for the late Dr. Stewart J. Miller and taught elementary school for the city of Elmira for 30 years. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, Inc., 413 S. Main St., Horseheads on Monday, February 16, 2015, from 2-4PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at 10AM in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 130 Oakwood Ave., Elmira Heights, NY with the Rev. Scott Kubinski, Celebrant.
