Obituary of Sandra A. Henry
HENRY, Sandra A. (Brewer)
Age 67 of Breesport, NY passed away on Fri. Jan. 29, 2010. She was born March 21, 1942 in Binghamton, NY. She is predeceased by her mother, Gertrude Brewer, step-mother, Harriet Brewer, in-laws, Cell and Ruth Henry. She is survived by her husband and caretaker of 44 years, Marcellus “Ron” Henry of Breesport, NY; father, Harland Brewer of Troy, PA; son, Erik Henry of Breesport, NY; daughter, Michelle (Michael) Jamison of Elmira Heights, NY; grandchildren, Christopher (Nicole) Jamison, Jessica (Brent) Stone and the “Apple of her Eye” Allena Jamison; Great-grandchildren, Brent Jr., Jaebreonna, Alexis and Kaden; Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tom and Bonnie Henry of Mishawaka, IN, Kathy and Linn Henry of Burdett, NY; niece, Amanda (Paul) Henry of Manhattan, NY; step sisters, Marijane (Tim) Wade of Horseheads, NY, Jackie (Harlan) Press of Mosherville, PA, Nancy Denunzio of Florida; extended family, Michelle and Alex Jamison; good friends, Betty Merrill and sons, and numerous cousins and friends. She graduated from T.A.E. in 1960 and the Arnot Ogden School for Nursing on 1965 with her RN. She worked locally and downstate for many years in the nursing profession. Her accomplishments included serving as an adjunct fire instructor with the NYS Fire Academy in Montour Falls, a Deputy Coordinator assigned to the Chemung County Fire Investigation Unit, and held many offices in the Breesport Fire Department, including Assistant Fire Chief and was a former Secretary/Treasurer of the Horseheads Fire District #1 (Breesport). She was the recipient of the Ray C. Margeson Award from the Chemung County Fireman Association. She was co-owner of Nurses Field, was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Excelsior-Southern Light Chapter #323, Horseheads Women of the Moose Lodge #1832 and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #154. Her interests included archery, animals, especially dogs, Crafts, sewing, and horses. The family would also like to give a heartfelt thank you to the Breesport Fire Department and Erway Ambulance for their excellent care. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home 413 So. Main St. Horseheads on Tuesday Feb. 2, 2010 from 4-7:00 pm. Her service will follow there at the funeral home at the conclusion of calling hours at 7:00 pm. Interment to take place at the convenience of her family.
