Obituary of Jean B. Abercrombie

ABERCROMBIE, Jean B. Age 92 of Onondaga St. in Corning passed away Thurs. Oct. 7, 2010 at the MM Ewing Continuing Care Center in Canandaigua. “Jeanie Brown” was born Aug. 29, 1918 in Airdire, Scotland. She was predeceased by her husband Alex Abercrombie in 2001. Her surviving family includes her daughter and sons, Nancy (Marty) Reasoner of Honeoye Falls, NY, John Abercrombie of Corning, NY, and Alex Abercrombie of Walpole, MA; Grandsons, Marty (Katie) Reasoner Jr. of Centerville, MA, David Reasoner of Ridgewood, NJ, Adam Reasoner of NYC, NY; and Great granddaughter Allie Reasoner. Jean was a lifetime resident of Corning and Crystal Beach on Keuka Lake. She retired from Corning Glass where she worked in professional recruiting for many years. Jean was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Corning. Jeannie Brown or Gran, as she was affectionately called by her family and friends, always kept her Scottish heritage close to her heart. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed. Family and friends are invited to attend her memorial service on Sunday Oct. 24, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Corning, One West First St., Corning , NY 14830. A reception will immediately follow in the adjoining fellowship hall at the conclusion of the service.
