Obituary of David G. Combs Jr.

Combs, Jr., David G. “DJ” Age 33 of Ithaca, NY. David went home to be with the Lord on September 5th, 2020 at his home surrounded by family after a long illness. David was born on August 5th 1987 to David and Betty Combs Sr. He was a graduate of Spencer-VanEtten High School Class of 2006. David grew up in Spencer, NY. He loved to be outdoors riding, dirt biking, fishing, or hunting. He also loved to be around family and friends. He always brought a smile to everyone who met; he never left a stranger. David especially loved his wife Trisha and his baby girls, Jasmine and Emily. They were the apple of his eye. He enjoyed riding motorcycles with his dad; they shared that special bond. In addition to his parents, David is survived by his wife of 8 years, Trisha; their beautiful girls Jasmine and Emily; sisters Shannon (Rob) Bates of Elmira Heights, and Tasha (Zach) Cowan of Horseheads; his niece Skylair Bates; nephew Kameron Bates; as well as his adopted nieces and nephews, Ashton and Grace Updike, Devon, Derrick, and Amber Tierney; sisters-in-law Satticia (Brian) Tierney, Shannon (Todd) Updike; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends. David was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Donald and Sylvia Brimmer; his paternal Alva and Rosemary Combs, and his second wife Ethel Combs; his aunts Patricia Baldwick, and Barb Kline; cousin Angela Green; brother in law James Minster Jr.; adopted grandma Olive Kline and grandpa Randall Kline; and uncle William Halliday. Family and friends are invited to visit The Way Center, 132 Oakwood Ave, Elmira Heights, NY 14903, on Thursday September 10th, 2020 from 4 pm to 6 pm. His funeral service will follow at 6 pm. Private burial will take place with DJ’s family at Evergreen Cemetery in Spencer, NY.
